Steward's Report
An Out of Competition sample was taken from Leprechaun Storm, engaged in this event, on Friday 13th October 2017 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Bartolo, the trainer of Leprechaun Storm regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Leprechaun Storm last raced on 18th May 2017. Mr. Bartolo stated that the greyhound was returning to race from an injury to the right metacarpal.
A pre-race sample was taken from Rig Fifty Five.
Cosmic Coaster, Lockrod and Rig Fifty Five were slow to begin. Lockrod and Cosmic Coaster collided soon after the start. Leprechaun Storm, Josie Rumble and Ginger Menang collided approaching the first turn checking Josie Rumble. Royal Cosmic and Leprechaun Storm collided on the first turn checking Lockrod and Josie Rumble; Lockrod and Josie Rumble collided several times and raced wide as a result. Tiggerlong Boom and Ginger Menang collided on the second turn checking Tiggerlong Boom. Royal Cosmic and Ginger Menang collided in the back straight. Ginger Menang and Rig Fifty Five collided approaching the third turn. Lockrod raced wide on the home turn. Leprechaun Storm and Royal Cosmic collided entering the home straight.
Lockrod was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
