Steward's Report
An Out of Competition sample was taken from Liam, engaged in this event, on Friday 13th October 2017 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Rock Up Top, Gunmetal Rebel, Victor Dora and Eily West collided soon after the start checking Victor Dora and Gunmetal Rebel. Rock Up Top and Liam collided on the first turn. Eily West and Victor Dora collided on the first turn checking Eily West: Eily West stumbled and collided with Gunmetal Rebel as a result. Rock Up Top and Liam collided on the second turn and again entering the back straight checking Liam.
Gunmetal Rebel was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Ms. Mary Hamilton, the handler of the greyhound Are You regarding her failure to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound for racing. Stewards charged Ms. Hamilton with a breach of GAR 46(2) in that she failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound Are You. Ms. Hamilton pleaded guilty to the charge. Ms. Hamilton was found guilty and fined $100.
