Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Tiger Dusty.
Tiger Dusty was very slow to begin (3L).
Zipping Danii and Stormy Seas collided soon after the start. Jaclyn Bale and Zipping Danii collided approaching the first turn. Stormy Seas and Allen Arlovski collided approaching the first turn. Stormy Seas eased on the home turn and again entering the home straight, colliding with Allen Arlovski and checking both greyhounds. Allen Arlovski and Stormy Seas collided in the home straight and again approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr Steven Collyer, the representative for the greyhound Stormy Seas, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn and again approaching the winning post. Stormy Seas was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right sartorius (pencil) muscle, a five-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Stormy Seas with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Collyer pleaded not guilty to the charge, Stormy Seas was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
