Zipping Danii and Stormy Seas collided soon after the start. Jaclyn Bale and Zipping Danii collided approaching the first turn. Stormy Seas and Allen Arlovski collided approaching the first turn. Stormy Seas eased on the home turn and again entering the home straight, colliding with Allen Arlovski and checking both greyhounds. Allen Arlovski and Stormy Seas collided in the home straight and again approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr Steven Collyer, the representative for the greyhound Stormy Seas, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn and again approaching the winning post. Stormy Seas was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right sartorius (pencil) muscle, a five-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Stormy Seas with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Collyer pleaded not guilty to the charge, Stormy Seas was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Following the event, Stewards spoke to lure driver Mr. C. Hiscock after there was a delay in the initiation of the lure for the start of this event.  Mr. Hiscock stated that as he started the lure run up, he noticed the lure did not initiate. As a result, the lure control box was reset and the lure reactivated. Mr. Hiscock explained that when the lure control box is reset it takes a couple of seconds to reactive which resulted in the short delay. Stewards noted Mr. Hiscock's explanation and advised Mr A Bailey, Track Maintenance Specialist from the GRV Racing Department of the matter.

Sienna's Gem was quick to begin. My Girl Belena was slow to begin.

Peter Yap galloped on the heels of Sienna's Gem approaching the first turn, checking Peter Yap. Resplando contacted the running rail approaching the first turn and collided with Helen Baxter, checking both greyhounds. Resplando checked off Helen Baxter entering the back straight. Sienna's Gem and Jaycee Plumb collided on the third turn, checking Sienna's Gem. Jaycee Plumb checked off My Girl Belena approaching the home turn. Helen Baxter and Sienna's Gem collided entering the home straight, checking Sienna's Gem.

Resplando was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left elbow and sand toe of the left hind foot. No stand down period was imposed.

Desert Oasis was a late scratching at 7:22am due to illness (GAR 23).  A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
