A pre-race sample was taken from Billy Swagger.
Billy Swagger, Freddie Rawson and Baggy's Request were slow to begin. How Good She, Nick and Roberts collided soon after the start. Freddie Rawson and Baggy's Request collided soon after the start. Bob Carringbush and Fawntastic Kate collided approaching the 300m mark. Baggy's Request checked off Freddie Rawson at the 300m mark. Bob Carringbush, Fawntastic Kate, Billy Swagger, How Good She, Nick and Roberts collided at the 300m mark. Bob Carringbush, Billy Swagger and Nick collided at the 200m mark. Bob Carringbush checked off Billy Swagger at the 150m mark, checking Fawntastic Kate as a result. Bob Carringbush and Fawntastic Kate collided approaching the 50m mark. Roberts tired approaching the winning post.
Roberts was vetted and revetted following event five. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Marraffa, the trainer of the greyhound Roberts regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Roberts with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Marraffa pleaded not guilty to the charge, Roberts was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
