Steward's Report

Acting on a confirmed telephone call from Mr. William Dawes, the representative for Trainer, Mega McKayla was a late scratching at 1:15pm due to a ligament injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Good One Carl was a late scratching at 2:18pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a split webbing to the right fore foot. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Aquiam (reserve not required) earlier today. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Big Butterbean.

Big Butterbean was slow to begin.  Sandtrack Sniper was very slow to begin (4 lengths).  Zipping Foy was checked off Valkyrie Rose soon after the start and collided with Riverbank Lark.  Topaz Rose and Riverbank Lark collided on the first turn severely checking Topaz Rose; Zipping Foy and Sandtrack Sniper were checked as a result.  Zipping Foy and Sandtrack Sniper collided in the back straight.  Zipping Foy crossed out in the back straight checking Topaz Rose causing Sandtrack Sniper to race wide.  Sandtrack Sniper galloped on Topaz Rose on the second turn checking Topaz Rose which raced wide.  Zipping Foy raced wide entering the home straight.

Topaz Rose was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a minor abrasion to the left hock, no stand down period was imposed.

Zipping Foy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a split webbing on the right front foot, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
