Steward's Report
Galaxy Sprite was a late scratching at 2:04pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to soreness to both wrists. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
A pre-race sample was taken from Luna Evening.
Oliver Cruise was slow to begin. Oliver Cruise and Queen Dunroaming collided approaching the first turn. Oliver Cruise galloped on Queen Dunroaming on the first turn checking Five Lights and Bandit Brad and severely checking Oliver Cruise. Shogun Sammy crossed out on the first turn causing Luna Evening and It's All Bolony to race wide. Oliver Cruise crossed to the outside on the first turn checking Bandit Brad which raced wide ass a result. Bandit Brad was checked off Oliver Cruise approachng the home turn. Shogun Sammy and Five Lights collided on the home turn checking Five Lights.
Re-vetted greyhounds -
Bliss Street was presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of the meeting and was not cleared to race.
Trap Queen was presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of kennelling and was cleared to race.
Satisfactory trial result (GAR 77A):-
Stewards spoke to Ms. C. Ragen the trainer of Boston Road regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Boston Road last raced on 21/01/17. Ms. Ragen stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right fibula injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A Boston Road trialled over 315 metres from box 8, weight 31.3kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of 4 starters. The time of the trial was 18.48 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2.5 lengths. Boston Road was cleared.
