Dashin Dayz was quick to begin.  Eden Monaro galloped on Dashin Dayze soon after the start.  Dashin Dayz galloped on Georgie Porgi on the first turn severely checking Dashin Dayz and Eden Monaro.  Eden Monaro and Dr. Sparkles collided approaching the home turn.  Meehan Phil raced wide on the home turn.  Georgie Porgie and Meehan Phil collided and raced wide entering the home straight checking both greyhounds, Georgie Porgi became unbalanced as a result.

Tarika Tara was quick to begin.  Miss Springer and Black Shirley were very slow to begin (4 lengths).  Inyati Hawk, Dr. Shreds and Tarika Tara collided approaching the first turn checking Dr. Shreds and Tarika Tara.  Misty's Boy and Challis Annie collided appoaching the first turn checking Challis Annie.  Dr. Shreds was checked off Black Shirley on the first turn causing Dr. Shreds to race wide severely checking Dr. Shreds and Challis Annie.  Inyati Hawk faltered approaching the home turn.  Inyati Hawk and Misty's Boy collided approaching the home turn and again entering the home straight checking Misty's Boy, both greyhounds raced wide.

Inyati Hawk was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left hock, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Able Bess and Stitch Gun Miss were quick to begin.  Able Bess crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Blazin' Romeo, Dr. Tracey and Hilary's Beers, Hilary's Beers lost considerable ground as a result.  Scrumble, All In, Blazin' Romeo and Able Bess collided on the first turn checking Able Bess.  Able Bess clipped the heels of Blazin' Romeo approaching the home turn and stumbled.  Blazin' Romeo and All In collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds, both greyhounds raced wide.  Blazin' Romeo crossed to the rail entering the home straight and checked off Able Bess checking Able Bess.

Hilary's Beers was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right metacarpals, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Permafrost, Paua To Avoid and Doused In Mud collided soon after the start checking Paua To Avoid and Doused In Mud.  Dash Of Rose and Don't Kid Me collided soon after the start.  Little Black Joe and Permafrost collided on the first turn causing Permafrost to check off Lakeview Harley checking Dash Of Rose.  Lakeview Harley was checked off Don't Kid Me.

Buzz Rash and Cruella Deville were quick to begin.  Runnin' On Fire, Another Shiner and Akina Blitz were slow to begin.  Runnin' On Fire stumbled at box rise checking Another Shiner and Akina Blitz.  Leading The Way and Terpillar collided on the first turn.  Cruella Deville raced wide approaching the second turn checking Leading The Way and Terpillar.  Leading The Way and Cruella Deville collided in the back straight and again on the third turn checking Runnin' On Fire.  Leading The Way and Terpillar collided approaching the home turn.  Another Shiner and Akina Blitz collided entering the home straight.

Ultimate Conor, Tambo Flash, Locomotion, Mystic Quality, Rhyan's Return and My Names Rhonda collided on the first turn checking Locomotion, My Names Rhonda, Mystic Quality and Rhyan's Return.  Tambo Flash and My Names Rhonda collided entering the back straight checking both greyhounds.  Mystic Quality was checked off Rhyan's Return in the back straight.  Tambo Flash and My Names Rhonda collided on the second turn.  Rhyan's Return was checked off My Names Rhonda on the second turn.  My Names Rhonda clipped the heels of Locomotion on the second turn checking Mystic Quality and severely checking Locomotion and My Names Rhonda, Locomotion pulled up as a result.  Rhyan's Return and My Names Rhonda collided approaching the home turn checking My Names Rhonda.

Locomotion was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured radius/ulna, a 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards issued a warning to Mrs. S. Collins the trainer of Rhyan's Return regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn.  When deciding the penalty Stewards took into consideration the greyhound being distracted by the injured greyhound.

Stewards spoke to Mr. I. Bindley, the trainer of Tricky Mover regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Tricky Mover last raced on 21 April 2017 and is returning to racing after a back muscle injury.

Dr. Frankie and Cairo Calling were quick to begin.  Lakeview Isla and Taabinga Flash collided soon after the start checking Taabinga Flash and Taabinga Sprite.  Dr. Frankie and Rack Tap Rack colllided on the first turn checking Dr. Frankie, Rack Tap Rack and Machiko.  Tricky Mover, Taabinga Flash and Taabinga Sprite collided on the first turn checking Taabinga Flash and Taabinga Sprite.

Dr. Georgie, Contagious Miss and Trap Queen were slow to begin.  Dr. Summer and Tilly's Pie collided soon after the start.  Trap Queen was checked off Six Heights approaching the first turn.  Contagious Miss and Mrs. Jawa collided on the first turn checking Contagious Miss.  Dr. Summer and Flywheel Strike collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Mrs. Jawa raced wide on the home turn.  Contagious Miss was checked off Trap Queen entering the home straight.  Dr. Summer and Six Heights collided in the home straight.  Tilly's Pie was checked off Mrs. Jawa in the home straight.  Dr. Summer and Flywheel Strike collided approaching the winning post.

Mr. L. Floyd, trainer of Penny Lane Keats declared a new weight of 27.7kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Penny Lane Keats last raced at 26.6kg.

Invictus Helena and Ends Well were quick to begin.  Power Burst and Marinara Girl collided soon after the start.  Invictus Helena and Penny Lane Keats collided on the first turn checking Penny Lane Keats and Seaton Star.  Apila Moola and Ends Well collided entering the back straight checking Apila Moola.  Come To Play was checked off Ends Well in the back straight checking Ends Well and Invictus Helena.  Ends Well and Invictus Helena collided on the second turn checking Invictus Helena, Ends Well, Marinara Girl and Come To Play.  Marinara Girl was checked off Invictus Helena on the second turn and raced wide.  Power Burst and Penny Lane Keats collided approaching the home turn.  Power Burst cramped on the home turn and subsequently pulled up.  Apila Moola was checked off Penny Lane Keats entering the home straight.

Power Burst was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound was found to have suffered cramp in both hind legs, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. P. Andrews the trainer of the greyhound Power Burst.  Acting in accordance with GAR 71(cramp) Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a satisfactory trial before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from Mornington Star.

Phil's In Luck was quick to begin.  Mornington Star and Jimmy Vella were slow to begin.  Galester Hook and Daisy Patch collided soon after the start.  Galester Hook, Daisy Patch and Milla Rose collided on the first turn severely checking Daisy Patch.  Mornington Star was checked off Milla Rose entering the back straight severely checking Daisy Patch.  Gone Early raced wide in the back straight.  Jimmy Vella and Gone Early collided in the home straight.

Daisy Patch was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Flywheel Magic and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 5:27pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr. S. Bye was fined the sum of $100.

Apollo's Twin, Goorawin and Lakeview Miss were quick to begin.  Cataleya was slow to begin. Apollo's Twin, Goorawin and Lakeview Miss collided on the first turn checking Goorawin.  Cataleya was checked off Goorawin entering the back straight.

Meeting Comments:

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. W. McMahon, the trainer of Daffy Duck regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Daffy Duck last raced on 6 February 2017 and is returning to racing following a toe injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Daffy Duck trialled over the 315m from box 8, weight,34.2kg the greyhound was placed second in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 18.55 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.5 lengths. Daffy Duck was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. W. McMahon, the trainer of Dr. Harlee regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Dr. Harlee last raced on 12 February 2017 and is returning to racing folllowing a hind leg injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Dr. Harlee trialled over the 315m from box 1, weight 25.0kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 18.55 secs, the greyhound by a margin of 3.5 lengths. Dr. Harlee was cleared.
