A pre-race sample was taken from Mornington Star.
Phil's In Luck was quick to begin. Mornington Star and Jimmy Vella were slow to begin. Galester Hook and Daisy Patch collided soon after the start. Galester Hook, Daisy Patch and Milla Rose collided on the first turn severely checking Daisy Patch. Mornington Star was checked off Milla Rose entering the back straight severely checking Daisy Patch. Gone Early raced wide in the back straight. Jimmy Vella and Gone Early collided in the home straight.
Daisy Patch was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no injury apparent.
