A pre-race sample was taken from Tambo Flash.
Ultimate Conor, Tambo Flash, Locomotion, Mystic Quality, Rhyan's Return and My Names Rhonda collided on the first turn checking Locomotion, My Names Rhonda, Mystic Quality and Rhyan's Return. Tambo Flash and My Names Rhonda collided entering the back straight checking both greyhounds. Mystic Quality was checked off Rhyan's Return in the back straight. Tambo Flash and My Names Rhonda collided on the second turn. Rhyan's Return was checked off My Names Rhonda on the second turn. My Names Rhonda clipped the heels of Locomotion on the second turn checking Mystic Quality and severely checking Locomotion and My Names Rhonda, Locomotion pulled up as a result. Rhyan's Return and My Names Rhonda collided approaching the home turn checking My Names Rhonda.
Locomotion was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured radius/ulna, a 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards issued a warning to Mrs. S. Collins the trainer of Rhyan's Return regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. When deciding the penalty Stewards took into consideration the greyhound being distracted by the injured greyhound.
