Cheese Icy, Dee Dee One and Don's Just Under were slow to begin.
Dee Dee One and Don's Just Under collided soon after the start. Crime Minister crossed to the inside soon after the start, severely checking Superior Martini. Cheese Icy, Fernando Stealth, Levator Sccapulae and Big Deal collided soon after the start, checking Cheese Icy, Fernando Stealth, and Levator Scapulae which faltered and pulled up as a result. Don's Just Under crossed to the rail at the 300m mark, severely checking Dee Dee One and Don's Just Under.
Cheese Icy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. No stand down period was imposed.
Levator Scapulae was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left stifle fracture and a left gracilis (back) muscle injury, and was humanely euthanased.
Post race urine and blood samples were taken from Crime Minister, the winner of the event.
