Steward's Report
Mr. L. Mottram, kennel representative for Oshkosh Gypsy declared a new weight of 26.9kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Oshkosh Gypsy last raced at 25.8kg.
Mister Pickles and Buzz The Tower were slow to begin.
Porscha's Girl crossed to the outside at the 200m mark and collided with Eggeb Mai. Shady Apple lost ground at the 200m mark. Mister Pickles and Shady Apple collided at the 150m mark and again at the 100m mark, checking both greyhounds. Fernando's Jewel and Destini Duchess collided at the 100m mark, checking Destini Duchess. Porscha's Girl and Eggeb Mai collided approaching the winning post, checking both greyhound.
Mister Pickles was vetted and revetted following race six. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left sesamoid and right tensor fascia (triangle) muscle. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Douglas Burge, the trainer of the greyhound Mister Pickles. Stewards deemed the performance of Mister Pickles unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, directed that Mister Pickles must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Shady Apple was vetted and revetted following race six. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left gracilis (back) muscle. A five-day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr N Carthew, the kennel representative for the greyhound Shady Apple. Stewards deemed the performance of Shady Apple unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, directed that Shady Apple must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Eggeb Mai was vetted following the event.. It was reported that the greyhound sustained split webbing on the left front foot. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.
Post race urine and blood samples were taken from Porscha's Girl, the winner of the event.
