Steward's Report
A urine sample was taken from Dashing Moments this morning.
Half Moon Rising was a late scratching at 4:59pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a right hind toe injury. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Go Vicki was quick to begin. Jeebus Bird was slow to begin.
Golden Blaze and Seven Two collided soon after the start. Dashing Moments and Destini Seahorse collided approaching the first turn. Golden Blaze and Seven Two collided approaching the first turn checking Seven Two. Seven Two, Jeebus Bird, Dashing Moments and Destini Seahorse collided on the first turn checking Jeebus Bird, Dashing Moments and Destini Seahorse. Go Vicki and Jeebus Bird collided on the third turn checking both greyhounds. Golden Blaze and Seven Two collided entering the home straight. Go Vicki and Destini Seahorse collided entering the home straight. Jeebus Bird marred Seven Two in the home straight.
Jeebus Bird was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a mild abrasion to the left fore foot, no stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr T. Dailly, he representative of the greyhound Jeebus Bird regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Jeebus Bird with marring. Mr Dailly pleaded guilty to the charge, Jeebus Bird was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A sample was taken from Vectis Secret - winner of the event.
MEETING COMMENTS:
Exhibition Trial:- A pre-race sample was taken from Ebby Ripper who trialled over the 715mtrs from box 3, weight 26.3kgs. The time of the trial was 1st split (6.24), 2nd split (16.05) and overall time was (42.160).
