Steward's Report
Shy Freddie was a late scratching at 4:10pm on Veterinary advice (GAR 37)(fleas). No stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate of clearance, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A pre race sample was taken from Happy Hamish.
Dr. Gammiris was slow to begin. Happy Hamish, Little Jebrynah and Mister Heeney collided on the first turn. Happy Hamish and Mister Heeney collided in the back straight. Zipping Kirby veered out and marred the running of Wadelock Venus on the second turn severely checking Happy Hamish. Zipping Kirby marred the running of Happy Hamish approaching the home turn and again on the home turn severely checking both greyhounds.
Zipping Kirby was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Pattinson, the trainer of the greyhound Zipping Kirby regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the second turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Zipping Kirby with marring. Mr. Pattinson pleaded guilty to the charge. Zipping Kirby was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
