Stewards spoke to Ms. C. Barnard, the trainer of Extra Kisses regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Extra Kisses last raced on 12 January 2017 and is returning after a right shoulder injury.

Mr. S. Melville, trainer of Alyssa Rose declared a new weight of 28.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Alyssa Rose last raced at 29.7kg.

Parie Shiraz, Le Freak, Sandtrack Sniper and Runnin' Backward were slow to begin.  Stealthy Flight was checked off Alyssa Rose on the first turn.  Le Freak was checked off Parie Shiraz on the first turn.  Parie Shiraz and Sunset Queen collided on the second turn.  Stealthy Flight was checked off Alyssa Rose entering the home straight.  Alyssa Rose and Stealthy Flight collided several times in the home straight.

Grey Grouse went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.  Shogun Sammy, Bye Bye Boy and Six Heights collided approaching the first turn.  Dukestar crossed in on the first turn severley checking Bye Bye Boy, Six Heights and Off Her Rocker, checking Shogun Sammy.  Bye Bye Boy galloped on Six Heights approaching the home turn severely checking Six Heights, checking Bye Bye Boy.  Grey Grouse and Shogun Sammy collided in the home straight.  Shogun Sammy was checked off Grey Grouse approaching the winning post.

Two Toes Tony and Zipping Penny were slow to begin.  Artistic Alyssa, Moody Ruby, Indira's Girl and Black Odessa collided approaching the first turn checking Artistic Alyssa, Moody Ruby, Indira's Girl and Zipping Penny.  Beluga was checked off Black Odessa on the first turn checking Two Toes Tony.  Two Toes Tony raced wide approaching the home turn checking Artistic Alyssa, Indira's Girl and Zipping Penny.  Moody Ruby raced wide on the home turn.

Jack The Fipa was slow to begin.  Laurentide Ice, Jetmag Storm and Vane Power collided on the first turn severely checking Jetmag Storm which fell.  Vane Power and Jack The Fipa collided on the second turn checking both greyhounds.  Striking Bikini eased approaching the home turn checking Ends Well.  Laurnetide Ice and Jack The Fipa collided entering the home straight.  

Jetmag Storm was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Farley the trainer of the greyhound Striking Bikini regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn.  Striking Bikini was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right dew claw, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) the Stewards charged Striking Bikini with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury.  Mr. Farley pleaded guilty to the charge, Striking Bikini was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Diaco regarding the direction that the greyhound Armadale Lass be boxed first.  Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.

Dr. Gidget was quick to begin.  King Of Merrimu, Royal Bruno, Dr. Watson and Dr. Yuki were slow to begin.  Bernmar Terry was checked off He's Clever soon after the start.  Royal Bruno and Tiger Dusty collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn.  Royal Bruno and Dr. Watson collided on the second turn.  King Of Merrimu and He's Clever collided on the second turn checking He's Clever.  Bernmar Terry raced wide on the second turn.  Royal Bruno was checked off Tiger Dusty entering the back straight.  Royal Bruno was checked off Dr. Watson in the home straight.

Miss Fox was a late scratching at 2:00pm after discussions with Trainer Mr. A. Farley due to injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a Veterinary Certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Popowski and Ashtastic were quick to begin.  Dr. Oliver, Oakmont Whisper and Dr. Eleonora were slow to begin.  Popowski and Ashtastic collided approaching the first turn.  Dr. Oliver galloped on Ashtastic in the back straight checking Dr. Oliver and severely checking Ashtastic.

Sunset Senorita was a late scratching at 2:35pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a right toe injury. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Dr. Simon and Night Prancer were slow to begin.  Bandit's Girls, Dr. Simon, Dr. Gammiris, Night Prancer and Try Me collided soon after the start checking Dr. Gammiris.  Night Prancer and Dr. Bodacious collided in the back straight checking Night Prancer.  Bandit's Girls and Try Me collided in the back straight checking Try Me.  Try Me and Dr. Simon collided on the second turn.  Our Miss Deena and Bandit's Girls collided in the home straight.

Miss Taryn and Who's Irod were slow to begin.  Aminya Shadow and Johnny Bullet collided soon after the start.  Riverside Kim and Zafonic Express collided soon after the start.  Terrace galloped on Johnny Bullet in the back straight checking Terrace.  Who's Irod galloped on Zafonic Express in the back straight checking Who's Irod.  Aminya Shadow and Johnny Bullet collided in the back straight causing Johnny Bullet to race wide. Who's Irod was checked off Terrace approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Johnny Bullet was checked off Aminya Shadow approaching the home turn.  Who's Irod and Terrace collided on the home turn.

Azza and Linny Morris were quick to begin.  Oakmont Fire and Barroom Express were slow to begin.  Black Train, Barroom Blazer and Kobe's Hand collided soon after the start checking Black Train and Kobe's Hand.  Kobe's Hand and Barroom Express collided soon after the start.  Linny Morris and Oakmont Fire collided in the back straight and again approaching the second turn.  Linny Morris and Barroom Express collided approaching the home turn.

Fiesty Ivy and Snow Mistake were quick to begin.  Better Beware and Rock Me Baby collided soon after the start.  Snow Mistake and Cotton Bud Joe collided soon after the start.  Fiesty Ivy crossed in soon after the start.  Fiesty Ivy and Cotton Bud Joe collided on the first turn.  Better Beware, Rock Me Baby and Retention collided on the first turn checking Rock Me Baby.  Better Beware, Retention and Early King collided on the home turn severely checking Better Beware and Early King, both greyhounds raced wide as a result.

Fairy Tiger faltered approaching the first turn and lost considerable ground.  Harvey Leigh and Patch Lane collided approaching the first turn checking Patch Lane.  Bandit Brad, Patch Lane and Peter's Pride collided on the first turn checking Patch Lane.  Bandit Brad and Peter's Pride collided on the first turn severely checking Peter's Pride, Bandit Brad fell as a result causing Fallen Star to race wide checking Harvey Leigh.

Bandit Brad was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the side of the left eye, no stand down period was imposed.

Fairy Tiger was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left back muscle, a 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Satisfactory trial results:-

Zipping Tina trialled over 395 metres from box 3, weight 23.1kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23.30 secs, the greyhound won by a margin of a head.  Zipping Tina was cleared.

Elram Girl trialled over 315 metres from box 8, weight 27.0kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 18.67 secs, the greyhound won by a margin of  1.25 lengths.   Elram Girl was cleared.

Satisfactory results and GAR 77A:-

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Jack the trainer of Diamond Delight regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Diamond Delight last raced on 25/11/16.  Mr. Jack stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a spell.  Pursuant to GAR 77A Diamond Delight trialled over 315 metres from box 4, weight 26.9kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 18.67 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2.50 lengths.   Diamond Delight was cleared.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Cook the trainer of Lady Julian regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Lady Julian last raced on 20/09/16.  Mr. Cook stated that Lady Julian was returning to racing following a seasonal spell.   Pursuant to GAR 77A Lady Julian trialled over 315 metres from box 2, weight 30.5kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 18.67 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1.25 lengths.   Lady Julian was cleared.
