Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr John Westerlo, trainer of Romani Dreaming, regarding the length of time the greyhound had between races. Romani Dreaming last raced on 27 October 2016. Mr Westerlo stated that the greyhound was returning to race following an injury to the right hock.
Hold On Belena and Kreuzenstein were slow to begin.
Andrea Doria and Wadelock Venus collided soon after the start, checking Wadelock Venus. Hold On Belena, Cairnlea Ollie and Kooka Jak collided approaching the first turn, checking Cairnlea Ollie and Kooka Jak. Tiger Bite Turbo checked off the heels of Andrea Doria on the first turn and collided with Romani Dreaming which was checked as a result. Romani Dreaing checked off Hold On Belena approaching the home turn. Hold On Belena galloped on the heels of Tiger Bite Turbo approaching the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Kreuzenstein checked off Romani Dreaming on the home turn.
Tiger Bite Turbo was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the left side of the nostril and spike wounds to the left hind paw. A three-day stand down period was imposed.
