Steward's Report

Rampant Jack was quick to begin.

Lightning Frank and Turbo Road collided soon after the start, checking Turbo Road. Cudgee's Milo, Renaldo and Cream Whisk collided approaching the first turn, checking Renaldo. Cream Whisk and Cudgee's Milo collided on the first turn, checking Cream Whisk. Rampant Jack failed to pursue the lure with due committment approaching the winning post and collided with Bushman's Poem.

Turbo Road was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the left thigh and spike wounds to both hind paws. No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Raymond Mahony, the trainer of the greyhound Rampant Jack, regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Rampant Jack was vetted, and revetted following event twelve. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the front left paw and above the right eye; no day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Rampant Jack with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Mahony pleaded guilty to the charge, Rampant Jack was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
