Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Micallef, the trainer of Royal Bruno regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Royal Bruno last raced on 24th October 2016 and is returning to race from a change of kennels. Mr. Micallef also declared a new weight of 33.9kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Royal Bruno last raced at 32.0kgs.
Royal Bruno and Viewing were slow to begin. Ninetymile Lucky crossed to the inside soon after the start checking Gats Prodigy, Viewing and Royal Bruno. Vanishka crossed to the outside soon after the start checking Gats Prodigy. Vanishka and Ninetymile Lucky collided approaching the first turn checking Vanishka and Viewing and severely checking Royal Bruno. Viewing checked off Vanishka on the first turn and fell as a result. Vanilla Kiss checked off Vanishka approaching the winning post. Mini Dozer raced wide throughout the event.
Viewing was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right monkey muscle and abrasions to its left ulna. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
