Sunset Kay was a late scratching at 11:11am due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Miz Josie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left groin muscle.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Micallef, the trainer of Royal Bruno regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Royal Bruno last raced on 24th October 2016 and is returning to race from a change of kennels.  Mr. Micallef also declared a new weight of 33.9kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Royal Bruno last raced at 32.0kgs.

Royal Bruno and Viewing were slow to begin.  Ninetymile Lucky crossed to the inside soon after the start checking Gats Prodigy, Viewing and Royal Bruno. Vanishka crossed to the outside soon after the start checking Gats Prodigy.  Vanishka and Ninetymile Lucky collided approaching the first turn checking Vanishka and Viewing and severely checking Royal Bruno.  Viewing checked off Vanishka on the first turn and fell as a result.  Vanilla Kiss checked off Vanishka approaching the winning post.  Mini Dozer raced wide throughout the event.

Viewing was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right monkey muscle and abrasions to its left ulna.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Simple was a late scratching at 2:47pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24).  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Maroon Blitz, Calabrese Coco, Coolan Man and Redefined collided approaching the first turn checking Calabrese Coco.  Maroon Blitz checked off Kayla Las approaching the first turn causing Maroon Blitz to stumble.  American Charm checked off Redefined on the first turn and raced wide as a result.  Maroon Blitz and Coolan Man collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Maroon Blitz and Coolan Man collided entering the home straight.  American Charm and Calabrese Coco collided approaching the winning post.

Schembri, the trainer of Joie Eclat regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Joie Eclat last raced on 28th September 2016 and is returning to race from a left fibula injury and a change of kennels.  Mr. Schembri also declared a new weight of 25.5kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Joie Eclat last raced at 23.7kgs.

Black Market trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 1, weight 35.9kgs.  The greyhound was placed 3rd, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.84. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.75 lengths.  Black Market was cleared.

Zenobia trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 3, weight 25.7kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.84.  The greyhound won by a margin of 2.25 lengths.  Zenobia was cleared.
