Oakmont Blonde and Machiko were quick to begin. Johnnie Red, Spoil The Party and Lopsided were slow to begin. Oakmont Blonde crossed to the inside soon after the start checking Kobe's Hand, Lopsided and Spoil The Party. Kobe's Hand and Oakmont Blonde collided on the first turn. Johnnie Red and Machiko collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking Machiko.
