Brooklyn Skye was quick to begin.  He Shall Fred and Hogwarts Express were slow to begin and collided soon after the start.  Dr. Murtle and Turbo Road collided soon after the start.  Hogwarts Express checked off Dr. Murtle approaching the first turn.  Royal Intention checked off Gothamburg on the first turn.  He Shall Fred, Turbo Road and Annabelle's Boy collided on the first turn, severely checking Turbo Road and Annabelle's Boy.  Turbo Road and Annabelle's Boy collided on the second turn causing both greyhounds to race wide.  Royal Intention and Gothamburg collided on the third turn.  Turbo Road eased and pulled up on the third turn.  He Shall Fred and Hogwarts Express collided on the home turn.

Turbo Road was vetted following the event and was revetted following Race 7.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the right hip, right neck muscle and left shoulder, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Mrs A. Langdon, Trainer of the greyhound.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Turbo Road with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs Langdon pleaded guilty to the charge, Turbo Road was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown Park and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Dundee Osprey stumbled at box rise and lost considerable ground as a result.  Who Told Red and Rippin Hayne collided soon after the start.  Weston East checked off Elleni Banner on the first turn checking Rippin Hayne.  Elleni Banner and Gaucho collided in the back straight checking Who Told Red and Elleni Banner.  Rippin Hayne checked off Who Told Red in the back straight.  Weston East tailed off.

Dr. Flannigan was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to both shoulder muscles, and soreness to the the both neck muscles, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Shanakee, the winner of the event.

Subsequent to the event, Stewards spoke to Attendant, Mr K. Richards, Handler of Shanakee, regarding the manner in which he loaded the greyhound into the boxes, consequently delaying loading of greyhound Bue Murray.  Stewards reminded Mr Richards of the need to load the greyhound quicker in future.

Zipping Spring was a late scratching a 5:47pm due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr P. Schofield was fined the sum of $100.

New Level, Stelio Kontos and Dyna Irminus collided soon after the start.  Stelio Kontos, Dyna Irminus, Allen Optic and Dr. Darkrai collided on the first turn checking Stelio Kontos, Dyna Irminus and Dr. Darkrai causing Dr. Darkrai to race wide.  Stelio Kontos checked off Allen Optic in the back straight.  Fearless John checked off Sacramento Sal approaching the home turn.

Pictish Mark was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both shoulder muscles, neck soreness and spike wounds, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

McNeo was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right shoulder muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Subsequent to the event, Stewards spoke to Trainer, Mr S. Bye regarding the manner in which he loaded the greyhound, Flywheel Magic into the boxes and reminded him of the need to load the greyhound quicker in future.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr R. Neocleous, Trainer of McNeo, regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.
