Steward's Report
Crackerjack Cam was a late scratching at 11:24am due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr. M. Gibbons was fined the sum of $100.
Oh Lele Suzi was a late scratching at 9:47am due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms. M Shaw, the representative of the greyhound Oh Lele Suzi regarding the scratching time of the greyhound. Ms. Shaw stated that the greyhound was checked at 7am to ensure she was free of injury and season. When Mr. G Campbell was loading the greyhounds into the trailer at 9:45am it was noticed that Oh Lele Suzi was on season. Stewards noted Ms. Shaw's explanation and reminded her that it's crucial that greyhounds are scratched before scratching time when possible to allow for reserves to gain a start.
Lektra Allan was quick to begin. Midfield Maestro and Barroom Express were slow to begin. Spritely Boy and Emi's Boy Badger collided soon after the start. Satin Ice and Midfield Maestro collided approaching the first turn. Spritely Boy, Satin Ice and Midfield Maestro collided on the first turn checking Midfield Maestro and Barroom Express and severely checking Satin Ice; Spritely Boy fell as a result.
Satin Ice was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
