Stewards spoke to Mr. A Richardson, the trainer of Smart Business regarding the greyhounds improved performance. Mr. Richardson stated that this was the greyhounds first start for him and the greyhound had run up to the time it had been trialling in. Stewards noted Mr. Richardson's explanation and directed that a sample be taken. 

Destini Blaze, Sparkling Star and Light Feathers were quick to begin.  Greysynd Turbo, Eighteen Two and She's A Freebie were slow to begin.  Destini Blaze and Light Feathers collided on the first turn checking Light Feathers.  Greysynd Turbo and Eighteen Two collided on the first turn.  Sparkling Star and She's A Freebie collided on the first turn.  Greysynd Turbo galloped on the heels of Light Feathers on the second turn chcking Greysynd Turbo, Pyrenees Dynasty and Eighteen Two and severely checking Light Feathers.  Pyrenees Dynasty and Eighteen Two collided approaching the home turn.  She's A Freebie raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.

She's A Freebie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left thigh.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. D Choules, the representative of Destini Blaze regarding the greyhounds improved performance. Mr. Choules stated that the greyhound had been receiving considerable interference of late and today the greyhound managed to obtain a clear run to the first turn and lead throughout the event, which he believes was due to a drop in class. Stewards noted Mr. Choules's explanation and directed that a sample be taken.  

Stewards spoke to Mr. E Sladdin, the trainer of Ahlenny regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Ahlenny last raced on 03.06.2015 and is returning to racing after a change of kennel.

Mr. E Sladdin, trainer of Ahlenny declared a new weight of 32.9kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Ahlenny last raced at 31.3kgs.

Maximum Bella and Avatar Sandee were quick to begin.  Nordul's Hope was slow to begin.  Violets For Suzy and Quicker Than Bev collided soon after the start.  Knight Ice and Maximum Bella collided several times approaching the first turn checking Knight Ice.  Nordul's Hope and Boston Jive collided approaching the first turn severely checking Nordul's Hope.  Maximum Bella checked off Avatar Sandee on the first turn.  Knight Ice checked off Ahlenny on the first turn.  Boston Jive checked off Violets For Suzy on the first turn.  Boston Jive and Quicker Than Bev collided approaching the home turn checking Quicker Than Bev.  Boston Jive and Quicker Than Bev collided on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Ms. S Elmes, the representative of the greyhound Avatar Sandee regarding the greyhounds improved performance. Ms. Elmes stated that the greyhound had been receiving interference in the early stages of its races of late. She also added that the greyhound was at a more suitable weight and that the greyhound has done all her pre training at ballarat. Stewards noted Ms. Elmes's explanation and directed that a sample be taken. 

Crackerjack Cam was a late scratching at 11:24am due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr. M. Gibbons was fined the sum of $100.

Oh Lele Suzi was a late scratching at 9:47am due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24).  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms. M Shaw, the representative of the greyhound Oh Lele Suzi regarding the scratching time of the greyhound. Ms. Shaw stated that the greyhound was checked at 7am to ensure she was free of injury and season. When Mr. G Campbell was loading the greyhounds into the trailer at 9:45am it was noticed that Oh Lele Suzi was on season. Stewards noted Ms. Shaw's explanation and reminded her that it's crucial that greyhounds are scratched before scratching time when possible to allow for reserves to gain a start. 

Lektra Allan was quick to begin.  Midfield Maestro and Barroom Express were slow to begin.  Spritely Boy and Emi's Boy Badger collided soon after the start. Satin Ice and Midfield Maestro collided approaching the first turn.  Spritely Boy, Satin Ice and Midfield Maestro collided on the first turn checking Midfield Maestro and Barroom Express and severely checking Satin Ice; Spritely Boy fell as a result.

Next Grange was slow to begin.  Eumeralla Donny, Ulla Allen and Cowboy Jury collided soon after the start checking Ulla Allen.  Cowboy Jury checked off Pyrenees Grand soon after the start.  Shattered Ice, Pyrenees Grand and Our Murray Grey collided approaching the first turn checking Pyrenees Grand and severely checking Our Murray Grey which contacted the running rail as a result.  Eumeralla Donny and Shattered Ice collided on the first turn.  Cowboy Jury checked off Hard Merchandise on the first turn.  Shattered Ice checked off Next Grange on the home turn.  Pyrenees Grand checked off Cowboy Jury entering the home straight.  Our Murray Grey and Cowboy Jury collided in the home straight.

Ladies Kay was a late scratching at 11:21am on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to an injury to its right hock.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Shachar Magic and Hotlips Matilda collided soon after the start.  Little Miss Sin and Shachar Magic collided approaching the first turn checking Little Miss Sin. Lektra Connie and Whipstick Chloe collided on the first turn.  Whipstick Chloe raced wide on the home turn and collided with Hotlips Matilda.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S Collyer regarding his failure in catching the greyhound Ripped. After hearing evidence from Mr. W Kirk, the trainer stewards charged Mr. Collyer with a breach of 86(o). Mr. Collyer pleaded guilty to the charge and was found guilty, Mr. Collyer was fined the sum of $100.00. 

Major Gold was a late scratching at 11:51am due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr. B. Hodgson was fined the sum of $100.

Ms. M Shaw, representative of Blue Jager Light declared a new weight of 34.0kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Blue Jager Light last raced at 32.9kgs.

Jill Laker, Good Odds Sammy and Roman Boy collided soon after the start checking Good Odds Sammy and Roman Boy.  Franky Doorite and Jill Laker collided approaching the first turn.  Dynamic Dash checked off Blue Jager Light approaching the first turn.  Slipaway Anna, Jill Laker and Good Odds Sammy collided on the first turn checking Jill Laker.  Blue Jager Light checked off Jill Laker approaching the home turn checking Dynamic Dash.  Dynamic Dash raced wide approaching the winning post.

Satisfactory Trial

Bold Caper trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 8, weight 36.0kgs.  The greyhound was placed 2nd, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23.28. The greyhound was beaten by a head. Bold Caper was not cleared.

Stewards spoke to Ms A Court regarding comments she had written on the starters sheet at the Ballarat meeting 19.10.15 and 26.10.15. After hearing all the evidence stewards charged Ms. Courts with a breach of GAR 86(o). Ms Courts pleaded guilty to the charge and was found guilty, Ms Courts was fined the sum of $50.00.
