A pre-race sample was taken from Simply Lomar upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
A pre-race sample was taken from Goldenpaw Girl.
Ellie's Blue, Markom, Goldenpaw Girl and Lonesome George were slow to begin. Goldenpaw Girl checked off Baron Destini soon after the start. Simply Lomar checked off Tiger Rossa approaching the first turn. Markom, Tiger Rossa and Mahlo Blackhawk collided approaching the first turn checking Ellie's Blue and Baron Destini and severely checking Markom. Goldenpaw Girl and Simply Lomar collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn checking Simply Lomar.
Markom was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right loin muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
