Speedy Lino was vetted prior to the event. It was reported that the greyhound had a small laceration to the nasal area and was passed fit to compete.
Miss Baracus and Queen's Counsel were slow out. Bush Flyer crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Unapprochable, Albarta Prince and Barbaresso. Miss Baracus and Unapprochable collided on the first turn. Albarta Prince, Barbaresso and Speedy Lino collided on the first turn. Barbaresso checked off the heels of Speedy Lino approaching the second turn. Miss Baracus checked off the heels of Unapprochable approaching the second turn. Unapprochable and Speedy Lino collided on the third turn. Westar Mirage checked off the heels of Bush Flyer on the third turn. Grimby Jack and Bush Flyer collided on the home turn.
