Ronark was slow out. Sheoak Montana went up with the lids and was very slow out.
Ronark checked off the heels of Mathoura Marvel on the first turn.
Just A Major checked off the heels of Jet Allen on the first turn.
Smooper checked off the heels of Jet Allen on the first turn.
Smooper and Ralph Wiggum collided on the first turn, checking Just A Major and Ralph Wiggum, and severely checking Smooper.
Sheoak Montana eased in the home straight and pulled up.
Ronark was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury.

Smooper was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injury to left groin, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Acting under GAR 96.2 stewards charged Sheoak Montana with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment and suspended the greyhound for 28 days Bendigo and directed that the greyhound perform a STAT, pursuant to GAR 97.1 before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr. J. Tolson, the Trainer of Ronark regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn.
