Steward's Report
Liquid Fire and Arvo's Jet were slow out. Knockabout Sarah and Dutchy's Reward collided soon after the start checking Liquid Fire. Minkara Bale and Kola's Glory collided on the first turn checking Kola's Glory. Knockabout Sarah checked off the heels of Arvo's Jet on the first turn. Liquid Fire raced wide approaching the second turn. Minkara Bale and Dutchy's Reward collided entering the back straight. Arvo's Jet eased on the home turn.
Arvo's Jet was vetted following the Event and after being revetted, Dr. Y. Indrawirawan, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that she could find no injury apparent with the greyhound. Stewards charged Arvo's Jet in contravention of AGRR 80.2 for failing to pursue the lure with due commitment on the home turn. After taking evidence from Mr. George Arvanitis (representing Trainer - K. Arvanitis), acting on their own observations and viewing the official video film, the Stewards found Arvo's Jet guilty as charged. Acting in accordance with AGRR 81.1, the Stewards will stand Arvo's Jet down from competing for 28 days at Sandown Park only and will require the greyhound to perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will again be accepted.
