Dragon was slow out and collided with Jimbo soon after the start. Anna Belle Bayle and Frisco Bay collided soon after the start. Henerik Bale, Frisco Bay and Wacky Tiger collided approaching the first turn. Frisco Bay checked off the heels of Wacky Tiger on the first turn and raced wide checking Dragon and Jimbo. Frisco Bay galloped on the heels of Jimbo approaching the second turn checking both greyhounds. Henerik Bale and Wacky Tiger collided on the second turn. City Kid, Henerik Bale and Addict's Actor collided on the home turn. Anna Belle Bayle was vetted following the Event and after being re-vetted, Dr. Michael Bell, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that he could find no injury apparent with the greyhound. At the request of Trainer, Peter West, City Kid was vetted following the Event after it was established that the greyhound appeared to injure itself on pulling up in the catching pen. Dr. Michael Bell, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, subsequently reported that City Kid had sustained a head injury. Acting on a recommendation from Dr. Bell, the Stewards will stand City Kid down from competing for 14 days.

Vividity was a late withdrawal at 4.20 p.m. due to illness. Acting in accordance with AGRR 6(4), the Stewards will stand Vividity down from competing for ten days. Tenor's Image was slow out and collided with World Play soon after the start. World Play and Hotshow Vintage collided approaching the first turn. Spicy Shiraz, Tenor's Image and World Play collided on the first turn. Tenor's Image checked off the heels of Spicy Shiraz in the front straight. Spicy Shiraz checked off the heels of World Play on the third turn. Spicy Shiraz and Miracle Knight collided approaching the finishing line. Spicy Shiraz was vetted following the Event and Dr. Michael Bell, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that the greyhound was found to be injured in the right thigh. Acting on a recommendation from Dr. Bell, the Stewards will stand Spicy Shiraz down from competing for 5 days. Stewards issued a warning to Trainer, David Chiu, regarding the manner in which Spicy Shiraz raced approaching the finishing line.

Queen Amidala and Chaucer Bale were slow out. Queen Amidala and Patrick Shiraz collided approaching the first turn checking Regal Tiger. Tinas Jo and Regal Tiger collided on the first turn checking Regal Tiger. Queen Amidala checked off the heels of Single Crown on the third turn. Single Crown and Patrick Shiraz collided on the home turn. Single Crown and Queen Amidala collided in the home straight. Single Crown was vetted following the Event and Dr. Michael Bell, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that the greyhound was injured in the right hind toe. Acting on a recommendation from Dr. Bell, the Stewards will stand Single Crown down from competing for 14 days. A swab sample was taken from Patrick Shiraz, the winner of the Event.

Sole Intent, Green Park and Mr. Boswell were slow out. Greenlea Prince checked off the heels of Bentley Babe on the first turn. Busy Affair and Heady Freddie collided on the first turn checking Heady Freddie. Busy Affair raced wide on the second turn. Sole Intent, Mr. Boswell and Greenlea Prince collided on the fifth turn checking Greenlea Prince. Red Beadman veered in and fought Bentley Babe approaching the finishing line. Red Beadman was vetted following the Event and Dr. Michael Bell, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that he could find no injury apparent with the greyhound. Stewards charged Red Beadman under AGRR 80.1 for fighting approaching the finishing line. After taking evidence from Trainer, Peter Byrne, acting on their own observations and viewing the official video film, the Stewards found Red Beadman guilty as charged. Acting in accordance with AGRR 81.3, the Stewards will stand Red Beadman down from competing for 12 months on all tracks and will be required to perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will again be accepted. A swab sample was taken from Red Beadman, the winner of the Event.

This Event was put back one race to commence at 9.54 p.m. due to a partial lighting failure on course. It was reported to the Stewards that a power pole had been struck within the vicinity as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Stewards directed that all events on the remainder of the program be put back one race and were re-scheduled to start as follows - R8 (10.18 p.m.), R9 (10.38 p.m.) and R10 (10.55 p.m.). Coulta Pine was slow out. Lucky Penna and Pepper Pot collided soon after the start. Pepper Pot and Pristine Idol collided on the first turn checking Gemtrea Cassie. Pristine Idol and Von Steinberg collided on the second turn checking Von Steinberg. Coulta Pine checked off the heels of Probability on the third turn.
