Cool Maxine, Centralian, Sandave Pearl, Nevaeh Beach and Smashing Success were slow to begin. Centralian and Riverside Mary collided approaching the first turn, checking Benny Bowen, Sandave Pearl and severely checking Nevaeh Beach which stumbled; Smashing Success fell as a result. Cool Maxine and Benny Bowen collided in the home straight. Centralian and Riverside Mary collided in the home straight. Atomic Beach and Riverside Mary raced wide in the home straight.
Smashing Success was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained minor grazes to the left fore foot and a left triangle injury; a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
