Wild Rover (checked and fell turning off the back straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a pectoral muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed
Speedy Swan (marred Fascinate Pearl on the turn into the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the tibia. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Taylor Thornton regarding Speedy Swan’s racing manners on the turn into the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Speedy Swan was charged with marring. Mr. Thornton pleaded guilty to the charge. Speedy Swan was suspended for 28 days at Bendigo only and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Fascinate Pearl (marred Hillbilly Lexi in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination - no apparent injury .Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Ian Beattie regarding Fascinate Pearl’s racing manners in the home straight . Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Fascinate Pearl was charged with marring. Mr. Beattie pleaded not guilty to the charge. Fascinate Pearl was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo only and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
