Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 31.3 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.0 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
Right Hand Rocky was quick to begin. Powder Dry and Tiger Shark were slow to begin.
Radiation Band (lost ground in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right quadriceps injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Representative Mr M.Gibbons regarding Radiation Band’s performance and racing manners in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Mr Gibbons, viewing the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards deemed the performance of Radiation Band unsatisfactory. Radiation Band must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
