Bubba's Boy was slow to begin. Rusty Rogers crossed in soon after the start checking Rusty Rogers, Surfing Minnie and Bubba's Boy. Select Data and Bernmar Pete collided approaching the first turn severely checking Select Data and Surfing Minnie and checking Bubba's Boy as a result. Bernmar Pete checked off Our Mantra approaching the home turn. Our Mantra checked off Eddy Betz Keats approaching the home turn checking Bernmar Pete and Bubba's Boy; Bubba's Boy raced wide as a result. Select Data and Bernmar Pete collided in the home straight checking both greyhounds.
Stewards spoke to the handler of Dr. Sanscha, Ms. J. Gill regarding her late arrival to the kennels to prepare the greyhound for this event (GAR 46(2). Stewards issued a warning to Ms. Gill. In considering the penalty, Stewards took into account it was her first breach of this rule and the high number of greyhound's Ms. Gill handles.
