Steward's Report
Aston Fulham – Late scratching at 10:21am due to weight variation (GAR 101). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr D.Fullerton was fined $100.
Ulara Bale and Billy Spanner were quick to begin. Sheila's Wait was slow to begin. Gunai Maverick raced wide in the home straight.
Ulara Bale (turned it's head to the outside soon after the start) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have thumps, bruising and a toe injury. No day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to trainer, Ms. B. Kinder regarding Ulara Bale’s racing manners soon after the start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Ulara Bale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Kinder reserved her plea to the charge. Ulara Bale was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Billy Spanner - the winner of the event.
