Crymelon Quick and Sound The Bugle collided soon after the start. Natalia Lee and President Peggy collided approaching the first turn. President Peggy and Sound The Bugle collided on the first turn. Natalia Lee brushed the running rail approaching the first turn. Crymelon Quick checked off President Peggy on the home turn; causing Crymelon Quick to stumble and lose ground.
Crymelon Quick underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg monkey muscle injury. A seven day stand down period was imposed.
