A pre-race sample was taken from Demon Sal.
Bourne Blue and Revved Up Sal were slow to begin.
King Crow, Perpetuate, Sagarmatha and Pumping Air collided soon after the start. King Crow, Perpetuate and Sagarmatha collided approaching the first turn; checking King Crow and Perpetuate. Sagarmatha, Pumping Air, Demon Sal and Revved Up Sal collided on the first turn; severely checking Bourne Blue, Demon Sal and Revved Up Sal; causing Sagarmatha to fall.
Sagarmatha underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions and spike wounds injuries to both hindlegs. A three day stand down period was imposed.
