Steward's Report
A pre race sample wa staken from Allert Lea.
Allert Lea and Prancing Lad were slow to begin. Don's Bullet and Dream Earner collided soon after the start. Sundaram and Marlow Flight collided on the first turn checking Sundaram. Red Cry and Marlow Flight collided on the first turn checking Red Cry. Red Cry, Sundaram and Dream Earner collided entering the back straight. Sundaram and Allert Lea collided in the back straight checking Sundaram. Phebu raced wide on the home turn. Dream Earner eased in the home straight and collided with Red Cry.
Dream Earner was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shoulder, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Jason Formosa, the Trainer of the greyhound Dream Earner. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Dream Earner with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment and suspended the greyhound for 28 days at Ballarat and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
