Steward's Report
Robin's Choice, Perfect Colour and Astro Boy were quick to begin. Hendrik Bale, Typhoon Sammy and Slingshot Jonesy were slow to begin.
Hendrik Bale encountered inteference and fell on the first turn, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left foreleg monkey muscle soreness. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Typhoon Sammy encountered inteference and lost ground on the first turn; and underwent a post-race veterinary examination as a result - no apparent injury was reported. The Stewards spoke to Mr Luke Thompson, the kennel representitive of Typhoon Sammy regarding the performance. In accordance with GAR 75 (1), the Stewards requested Mr Thompson to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Typhoon Sammy in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
Slingshot Jonesy encountered inteference and fell on the first turn, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left foreleg radius/ulna fracture. Slingshot Jonesy was humanely euthanased.
Post-race samples were taken from Astro Boy (1st) and Robin's Choice (2nd).
Supplementary Report - Trainer Jason Thompson advised Stewards on 1 May 2022 that Typhoon Sammy had seen a Veterinary Surgeon who reported a left deltiod injury.
