A pre-race sample was taken from Snowy's Brother.
Aston Spinel was quick to begin.
Ratified, Awesome Value and Aston Spinel collided approaching the first turn. Ratified and Sugar Shane collided approaching the home turn; checking both greyhounds. Quinnish and Snowy's Brother collided approaching the home turn. Snowy's Brother and Aston Spinel collided on the home turn; checking Snowy's Brother and Aston Spinel; severely checking Quinnish, which fell as a result.
Quinnish underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have soreness and a spike wound to the left hindleg. A five day stand down period was imposed.
