Steward's Report
Dr. Esther - Late scratching at 10.11am - Stewards non penalty.
Old Ecca was quick to begin. Daintree Lad was slow to begin. Old Ecca crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Black Redeemer and Mt. View Buck. Our Solitaire was checked off Black Redeemer on the first turn. Flywheel Bandit visibly eased on the first turn. Flywheel Bandit crossed to the outside and visibly eased on the home turn severely checking Old Ecca.
Flywheel Bandit underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right triangle muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. Sam Bye regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn and on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Flywheel Bandit was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due committement (by reason of injury). Mr. Bye pleaded guilty to the charge, Flywheel Bandit was found guilty and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
