In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 32.7 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
Warm Hugs was slow to begin.
Wyong El Paso (severely checked and fell on the turn out of the front straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Phoenix Amelia (severely checked and fell on the turn out of the front straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
