Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 30.5 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.9 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
Rue Deville – New declared weight of 36.1kg, last raced at 34.9kg.
Thermal Flame – New declared weight of 27.4kg, last raced at 26.2kg.
Nicky Boo Boo and Stretcher Jones were slow to begin.
A post–race urine sample was taken from Have A Crack – the winner of the event.
Nicky Boo Boo – Stewards were satisfied with the boxing of the greyhound and removed the boxed first endorsement for future events, in accordance with GAR 106.
Boggy Pub underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Ms. Briana Robertson-Leech regarding Boggy Pub’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Boggy Pub was charged with marring. Ms. Robertson-Leech pleaded guilty to the charge. Boggy Pub was suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Bendigo and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Pursuant to the GRV Hot Weather Policy, Stewards dispensed with two requirements prior to Race 2, meaning greyhounds were no longer required to remain on course for the specified time, and that the parading of greyhounds was to occur, as the outside temperature had decreased to a reasonable level.
