A pre-race sample was taken from Parzival.
Mia’s Hand was quick to begin. Sir Chappy was slow to begin. Sir Chappy and Mayhem Lass collided soon after the start. Narcissus, Mia’s Hand, Missy’s Hand, Nitroglycerine, Aston Sylvie and Parzival collided approaching the first turn checking Parzival, Nitroglycerine, Missy’s Hand and Mia’s Hand, severely checking Aston Sylvie. Aston Sylvie and Nitroglycerine collided in the home straight.
Mayhem Lass underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right hock. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards abandoned the GRV heat policy when the outside temperature dropped to 22 degrees.
