Steward's Report

A pre-race sample was taken from Pay The Prince.

Inside Fifty and Pay The Prince collided soon after the start.  Quincee Bale crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Quincee Bale, Peaky Blazer, That'll Do Neo, Inside Fifty, Affair Bit and Rufus Scrimgeour.  Affair Bit and Peaky Blazer collided on the first turn causing Peaky Blazer to collide with That'll Do Neo checking Affair Bit and Peaky Blazer.  Rufus Scrimgeour and That'll Do Neo collided approaching the second turn.  Rufus Scrimgeour checked off That'll Do Neo in the back straight.  Peaky Blazer galloped on Rufus Scrimgeour in the back straight checking both greyhounds.  Inside Fifty and That'll Do Neo collided in the home straight.  Verdun Bale marred Pay The Prince in the home straight. 

Verdun Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Kennel Representative Ms Korie-Lee Heinrich regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1), Verdun Bale was charged with marring.  Ms. Heinrich pleaded guilty to the charge and Verdun Bale was suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
