All persons attending today undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, checked in, observed social distance requirements, and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 32.4 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.0 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

A sample was taken from Ollie upon arrival at the course.

Pirates Patch was quick to begin.  Arizona Eyes and Ollie were slow to begin.

Arizona Eyes checked off Blue Tiger approaching the first turn.  Weblec Hawk and He Shall Rodger collided on the first turn.  Blue Tiger and Ollie collided on the first turn. 

A sample was taken from Just Like Mick upon arrival at the course.

A pre-race sample was taken from Black Robin.

Mirror Illusion was quick to begin.  Mobile Legend and Ratified were slow to begin.

Mobile Legend and Mirror Illusion collided approaching the first turn.  Mirror Illusion and Ratified collided approaching the first turn checking Mirror Illusion.  Mobile Legend, Mepunga Stellar and Super Marli collided on the first turn checking Mepunga Stellar.  Just Like Mick checked off Mepunga Stellar on the second turn.  Just Like Mick clipped the heels of Super Marli on the third turn checking Just Like Mick.  Mobile Legend and Black Robin collided on the home turn.  Black Robin checked off Mobile Legend in the home straight. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Barooga Smoke.

Barooga Smoke was slow to begin.

Riccarton Rick and Busy Time collided on the first turn.  Big Wings and King Of Calypso collided on the first turn.  Busy Time checked off Big Wings on the second turn.  Busy Time and Barooga Smoke collided entering the back straight.  Riccarton Rick checked off Busy Time on the third turn.  Busy Time and Barooga Smoke collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Big Wings and Coterie collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds.  

Pursuant to GAR 104 (6), Lure Driver Mr. C. Chilcott did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way, affected the outcome of this event.

Suntory Rose, Venus Light and Overflow Lisa were quick to begin.  Lump Sum and My Father's Son were slow to begin and collided soon after the start. 

Following the conclusion of this event, Stewards deemed the outside temperature to be acceptable for the commencement of pre-race parading, and subsequently declared the meeting to no longer be 'heat-affected'.

Carry On Star was quick to begin.  Painkiller and Weblec Scout were slow to begin.

Americano Miss and Dr. Xander collided approaching the first turn causing Americano Miss to contact the running rail.  Tough Tears and Americano Miss collided on the first turn checking Tough Tears.  Zipping Heat and Boombox Hammer collided on the third turn, on the home turn and in the home straight checking both greyhounds.  

Americano Miss underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. 

Fabroni Bale was slow to begin.

Whakahoro and Wizardry Magic collided approaching the first turn checking Wizardry Magic.  Gypsy Toowoomba and Shall She Charm collided approaching the first turn.  Gypsy Toowoomba and Twisted Reality collided on the second turn.  Fabroni Bale raced wide in the home straight. 

A sample was taken from Dream Wizard upon arrival at the course.

Levitation was quick to begin.  Sir Champ was slow to begin.

Sir Champ and Zivon Bale collided soon after the start.  Fabriola Duran, Well Grounded, Weblec Jet and Dream Wizard collided on the first turn checking Weblec Jet.  Fabriola Duran and Well Grounded collided on the second turn checking Fabriola Duran.  Fabriola Duran and Weblec Jet collided entering the back straight.  Well Grounded, Dream Wizard and Zivon Bale collided entering the back straight checking Dream Wizard and Zivon Bale.

Thunder Tears was slow to begin.

Vardan Bale, Invictus Rising and Thunder Tears collided on the first turn checking Invictus Rising and Thunder Tears.  Call Me Buster and Vardan Bale collided in the front straight checking Call Me Buster, Vardan Bale and Thunder Tears.  Vardan Bale and Eat My Dust collided on the second turn.  

A post-race sample was taken from Fernando's Quest - winner of the event. 

So Hazy was quick to begin.  Western Blazer was very slow to begin (2 lengths).

Zipping Loxley, Curator, Belle Ali, Fireweed and Gold Symbol collided soon after the start.  Gold Symbol and Western Blazer collided on the first turn.  Curator, Belle Ali and Fireweed collided on the first turn.  Belle Ali and Gold Symbol collided on the second turn.  Zipping Loxley and Curator collided approaching the third turn.  Curator shifted out, turned its head outward and marred Fireweed on the home turn.

Curator underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. Robert Le Sueur regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1), Curator was charged with marring.  Mr. Le Sueur pleaded guilty to the charge and Curator was suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from Pay The Prince.

Inside Fifty and Pay The Prince collided soon after the start.  Quincee Bale crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Quincee Bale, Peaky Blazer, That'll Do Neo, Inside Fifty, Affair Bit and Rufus Scrimgeour.  Affair Bit and Peaky Blazer collided on the first turn causing Peaky Blazer to collide with That'll Do Neo checking Affair Bit and Peaky Blazer.  Rufus Scrimgeour and That'll Do Neo collided approaching the second turn.  Rufus Scrimgeour checked off That'll Do Neo in the back straight.  Peaky Blazer galloped on Rufus Scrimgeour in the back straight checking both greyhounds.  Inside Fifty and That'll Do Neo collided in the home straight.  Verdun Bale marred Pay The Prince in the home straight. 

Verdun Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Kennel Representative Ms Korie-Lee Heinrich regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1), Verdun Bale was charged with marring.  Ms. Heinrich pleaded guilty to the charge and Verdun Bale was suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

My Neo was quick to begin.  Sierra Foxtrot went up with the lids and was very slow to begin (3 lengths).

Aragog crossed in approaching the first turn.  Gotham Baroness checked off My Neo on the first turn checking Postman Pickett.   Sierra Foxtrot raced wide in the back straight.  Sierra Foxtrot and Zing On collided in the home straight.

Sierra Foxtrot underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to the left front leg and left hind foot.  A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Alfie Moon underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have a right nostril lacetaion.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Circumstance.

Circumstance and Bang were slow to begin.

Take A Sunflower and Purple Storm collided approaching the first turn.  Take A Sunflower, Purple Storm, Zipping Jazz and Send Me Dizzy collided on the first turn checking Take A Sunflower, Send Me Dizzy, Purple Storm, severely checking Zipping Jazz, Circumstance and Bang.  Send Me Dizzy faltered entering the back straight and lost ground

Send Me Dizzy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left shin soreness and a left shoulder injury.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. Jake Dean regarding the greyhound's performance entering the back straight. After hearing evidence from Mr. Dean, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards were satisfied that the injury suffered by the greyhound was an acceptable explanation for its racing manners and took no further action.
