Miss Button was quick to begin. Crymelon Quick was slow to begin.
Myola Frost and Arby's Chloe collided approaching the first turn. Arby's Chloe galloped on the heels of Newtown Jet on the first turn; severely checking both greyhounds. Miss Button and Deadly Express collided on the first turn; checking Miss Button and One Happy Hippo. Orson Franky checked off One Happy Hippo on the home turn. Miss Button and One Happy Hippo collided entering the home straight.
Newtown Jet underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right hindleg thigh, left hindleg calf and abrasion injuries. A seven day stand down period was imposed.
