Silver Destroyer and Megasonic collided several times from soon after the start to approaching the 250m mark. Tiger's Crest and Maximum Capers collided several times soon after the start. Maximum Capers and How's It Alice collided at the 250m mark. Silver Destroyer faltered at the 250m mark. Maximum Capers and Especial One collided at the 150m mark. Maximum Capers and How's It Alice collided at the 100m mark. Especial One and Wake The Dragon collided at the 50m mark. Especial One checked off Tiger's Crest approaching the winning post.
Silver Destroyer underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
