Sagacious and Laxman were quick to begin.
Currawong and Mouthy Boof collided soon after the start. Laxman, Currawong and Shift Change collided on the first turn. Plain Name checked off Mouthy Boof approaching the home turn. Shift Change raced wide on the home turn, checking Laxman. Laxman raced wide in the home straight. Sagacious and Mouthy Boof collided approaching the winning post, checking Sagacious.
Shift Change underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have a wound to the right hindleg foot. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
