Steward's Report
Mepunga Val and Amp Meter were quick to begin.
Cool Lady and Abby's Comet collided soon after the start. Amp Meter and Minnie Banjo collided approaching the first turn. Amp Meter checked off Abby's Comet on the first turn, checking Cool Lady. Abby's Comet checked off Minnie Banjo entering the home straight. Minnie Banjo eased approaching the winning post and collided with Mepunga Val.
Minnie Banjo underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left hindleg triangle and left foreleg wrist, biceps and spike wound injuries. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr G Harding, the trainer of Minnie Banjo regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Minnie Banjo was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Harding pleaded guilty to the charge, Minnie Banjo was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Horsham and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
