All persons attending the venue today undertook successful health screenings, carried face-masks, observed social distance requirements and maintained room density quotients for the race meeting.

A pre-race sample was taken from Riverdale Poppy. 

Very Elegant was quick to begin. Riverdale Poppy was slow to begin.

Very Elegant, Riverdale Ella and Nova Star collided approaching the first turn checkig Riverdale Ella. Blinken Lily and Riverdale Ella collided approaching the home turn checking Blinken Lily. Nova Star raced wide on the home turn and lost ground. Very Elegant and Nova Star collided several times in the home straight checking both greyhounds. Blinken Lily checked off Nova Star approaching the winning post checking Blinken Lily.

Nova Star underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 3, no apparent injury could be detected. Stewards spoke to Mr Kevin Ward, the trainer of Nova Star regarding its performance on the home turn.  Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Nova Star must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr Kevin Ward, the trainer of Nova Star regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn and in the home straight. In accordance with GAR 75 (1), the Stewards requested Mr Kevin Ward to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Nova Star in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.

Mr Kevin Ward reported to Stewards: the greyhound Nova Star was examined by Dr M Bell on 28.02.21 and was found to have soreness of the left fore monkey muscle and right hind triangle muscle. Recommended stand down period 7 days. Veterinary certificate received. 

Parasite and Big Bash Jess were quick to begin. Lyrical Lad was slow to begin.

Duck Duck Dash and Zipping Blossom collided on the home turn. Volenti raced wide entering home straight and in the home straight. Duck Duck Dash and Zipping Blossom collided in the home straight.

Blackpool Coco – Late scratching at 4.54pm on the advice of the On – Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to lameness of the right forleg. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. 

Capitis and Urana Vieri collided soon after the start. Capitis and Urana Vieri collided on the first turn checking Capitis. Ice Star and Knock An Scratch collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Capitis and Ice Star collided on the home turn.

Chachi Arcola – New declared weight of 30.2kgs, last raced at 31.7kgs.

Winlock Dyno was quick to begin. Chill Out Isla and Name Me Nelly were slow to begin. 

Chachi Arcola checked off Name Me Nelly on the first turn. Chachi Arcola and Phoebe's Angel collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.

A pre-race sample was taken from Fifteen Love. 

Prince Cody and Electric Hippy collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Electric Hippy checked off Galaxy Queen on the first turn. Galaxy Queen checked off Fifteen Love approaching the home turn. Electric Hippy checked off Galaxy Queen in the home straight.

La La Lucky, Bad Bailey and For The Thrill collided on the first turn checking Bad Bailey. Magic Panther, La La Lucky and For The Thrill collided on the first turn checking Magic Panther, La La Lucky and Bad Bailey. South East Queen and Blue Magic Opal collided on the home turn checking Blue Magic Opal. Bad Bailey checked off Magic Panther entering the home straight.

A post-race sample was taken from Blue Magic Opal - the winner of the event.

Tigers Nineteen and Miss City Girl collided approaching the first turn. Hillbilly Road and Halwes collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Tigers Nineteen and Miss City Girl collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Miss City Girl and Halwes collided in the home straight checking Halwes.

Veritee Bale, Westar Carrie and Fly Havoc collided approaching the first turn checking Rothwell Prince, Henryk Bale, Fly Havoc and severely checking Westar Carrie and Veritee Bale which lost ground: causing Westar Carrie to become severley unbalanced: causing Westar Carrie to collide with Fly Havoc which crossed to the rail approaching the first turn. Westar Carrie, Rothwell Prince and Fly Havoc collided approaching the home turn checking Westar Carrie and Rothwell Prince.

Veritee Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound left hindleg and left fore paw and right monkey.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Westar Carrie  underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion on both hindlegs and sand toe.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Miss Lori Courts regarding the racing manners of Westar Carrie approaching the first turn.  After hearing evidence from Miss Courts, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards took into account the significant interference and the greyhound becoming severley unbalanced and took no further action.

Pronator and Riverdale Tommy were slow to begin.

Maverick Sandy and Mepunga Allie collided approaching the first turn. Maverick Sandy, Mepunga Allie and Tinker Calie collided on the first turn checking Maverick Sandy. and Mepunga Allie. Mepunga Allie checked off Maverick Sandy on the first turn and lost considerable ground as a result. One Double Beat and Riverdale Tommy collided on the home turn. Mepunga Allie checked off One Double Beat in the home straight.

Mepunga Allie underwent a post-race veterinary examination at trainer's request and was found to have a right foreleg toe injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Free Sebon. 

Riverdale Bear, Butter Puddin' and Flying Zara were slow to begin.

Flying Zara crossed out from the rail entering the home straight and raced wide as a result.
