A pre-race sample was taken from Aston Malmo.

Ronny Mac was slow to begin.

Blackpool Pyro, Danny Creek, Nyssa's Girl and Aston Malmo collided approaching the first turn checking Balckpool Pyro, Danny Creek and Nyssa's Girl. Ronny Mac galloped on Blackpool Pyro on the first turn severely checking both greyhounds. Bel Air Haze and Supercross collided approaching the home turn. Supercross checked off Bel Air Haze in the home straight.

Blackpool Pyro underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have general muscle soreness. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
